ISTIKA Eco Blocks
BUILT WITH Earth
RESPONSIBILITY BY DESIGN

Waste becomes
worth.

We believe responsible construction begins long before a block reaches the building site.

Sustainability at ISTIKA is not a marketing phrase — it is the way we operate.

The soil used in our blocks is responsibly sourced from excavated foundation earth that would otherwise be dumped in landfills or low-lying areas.

Sand used in our production process is upcycled from demolished construction debris, helping recover valuable material while reducing dependence on river sand and conventional quarrying.

Through this circular approach, every ISTIKA block contributes to reducing construction waste and conserving natural resources.

01
RECOVER

03
REDUCE

Less natural
extraction

Our approach helps reduce dependence on river sand and conventional quarrying.

Recover. Reuse. Build responsibly.

Founder, ISTIKA

A former IT engineer, Sreekanth Kalyanaraman transformed his deep-rooted passion for construction into a journey toward more responsible building materials.

Starting with Lightweight Concrete Blocks and Concrete Blocks, his search for materials that were both futuristic and closer to nature eventually led him to Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks.

Years of study and guidance from qualified professionals from IIT helped shape the development of Aadyant Eco Blocks, bringing together natural materials, engineering precision and disciplined manufacturing.

His approach continues to influence ISTIKA's culture today — prioritising uncompromising quality, continuous innovation, process discipline, craftsmanship and long-term trust with customers.

“Our goal extends beyond manufacturing building materials; we aim to inspire a shift toward responsible construction by combining innovation with nature.”

Rooted in nature.
Built for the future.

From a small manufacturing journey to a new way of building with earth.

In the year 2018, ISTIKA, formerly Aadyant Eco Blocks, was founded by Sreekanth Kalyanaraman, a former IT engineer whose passion for construction made him form a small manufacturing company.

We started with manufacturing of Lightweight Concrete Blocks and Concrete Blocks. The quest for materials that are futuristic and close to nature made us explore Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks.

With years of study and guidance from qualified professionals from IIT, Aadyant Eco Blocks was launched.

At ISTIKA, we believe that the future of construction lies in building stronger structures with a lighter footprint on nature.

We are a purpose-driven manufacturer of Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) — an advanced, eco-friendly building material created by compacting a precisely engineered mix of natural soil, sand and cement in preset proportions.

Our blocks merge the durability demanded by modern construction with the environmental responsibility demanded by the future. Each product reflects our commitment to sustainable innovation, uncompromised quality and refined craftsmanship.

01 ANSWER

How do Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) compare to regular red bricks?

CSEB blocks are manufactured using natural soil stabilized with cement or lime and compressed mechanically, while regular red bricks are made from clay and fired in kilns.

Compared with conventional red bricks, CSEB offers lower carbon emissions, high and consistent compressive strength, lower water absorption when properly manufactured, and a natural exposed-earth finish.

Many homeowners choose CSEB for better thermal comfort, reduced plastering costs, sustainable construction, natural earthy appearance and consistent block dimensions that allow cleaner masonry work.

CSEB blocks are manufactured using natural soil stabilized with cement or lime and compressed mechanically, while regular red bricks are made from clay and fired in kilns.

Many homeowners choose CSEB for better thermal comfort, reduced plastering costs, sustainable construction, natural earthy appearance and consistent block dimensions that allow cleaner masonry work.

Yes. Any mason with prior masonry experience can work with CSEB blocks successfully.

The most important requirements are patience, attention to detail and willingness to follow proper construction practices.

Masons should focus on accurate spirit levels, proper plumb alignment, prompt cleaning of block surfaces after masonry work and precise block cutting using electric tile-cutting machines.

Because CSEB blocks are often used as exposed-finish walls, workmanship quality is especially important.

Yes. We assist masons and contractors during the initial stages of construction.

Support includes practical guidance on CSEB masonry, training teams on proper block handling and laying techniques, helping workers use masonry frames for uniform mortar joints, and sharing best practices for achieving clean, aesthetically finished walls.

With proper guidance and basic care during construction, regular masons can create strong, beautiful and long-lasting CSEB structures.

Yes. CSEB blocks can absolutely be plastered.

However, one of the major advantages of CSEB is that the blocks are designed to perform well even when left exposed to natural weather conditions such as rain and harsh heat.

Plastering is therefore not necessary for protection. Exposed CSEB walls provide a natural earthy architectural finish.

Plastering can still be applied according to customer preference. It is generally recommended for bathroom interiors and kitchen walls to help prevent stains, improve cleaning and reduce maintenance in wet-use areas.

CSEB construction costs vary depending on building design complexity, project location, availability of materials, total project size, finishing materials and the type of CSEB used.

Non-interlocking blocks require mortar joints and more masonry time. Construction can sometimes be slightly more expensive than conventional construction due to skilled workmanship and exposed-finish detailing.

Interlocking blocks generally allow faster construction because mortar joints are minimal or may not be required. This can reduce overall construction costs by approximately 20–25% due to lower labour and mortar usage.

Interlocking blocks use a self-locking system with minimal or no cement mortar. Construction is faster and labour and mortar costs are lower.

They require careful workmanship to avoid gaps and are best suited to square and rectangular structures. Accurate alignment is important because small level errors may require significant rework.

Non-interlocking blocks are joined using cement mortar. Construction is slower, but mortar joints help seal seepage gaps and insect entry points.

They are suitable for curved walls, jaalis, brick patterns and architectural designs. Mortar thickness also allows easier level adjustments during construction.

Calculate the total wall area with the help of your engineer or architect and subtract the area occupied by doors and windows.

Then multiply the final wall area by 2.8.

Number of Blocks = Wall Area (sq. ft.) × 2.8

For example, a wall area of 100 sq. ft. would require approximately 280 blocks.

It is difficult to estimate block requirements based only on plot dimensions.

The quantity depends on partition walls, ceiling height, building design, door and window openings and the structural layout.

As a very rough estimate, a typical 30 × 40 sq. ft. construction may require approximately 4,500 blocks.

This is only an approximate estimate and may vary depending on the final design.

Yes. Blocks are manufactured based on confirmed orders.

The approximate waiting period is 30 days after order confirmation.

We recommend confirming your order when foundation excavation begins so the blocks are ready when masonry work starts.

Advance booking helps ensure smoother project execution without delays.

Priority is given to existing running projects and customers whose construction continuity depends on timely block supply.

Early booking helps coordinate production and delivery with your construction schedule.

According to testing reports from reputed laboratories, the minimum compressive strength is 8 MPa, with typical strength achieved up to 12 MPa.

The maximum water absorption observed is 8%, while the best results are around 6%.

The minimum compressive strength of the blocks is consistently maintained at 8 MPa or higher.
